  • Is the Short URL case sensitive?

  • Yes, nome.ga/test and nome.ga/TEST are different Short URLs.

  • How many English Words are used for creating Short URL using English Word?

  • Around 2000 most commonly used words. Rest of the words can be used to create Short URLs by using Custom Short URL option.

  • When does a Short URL expire?

  • Unless an expiry period is specified while shortening, Short URLs will never expire(See ToS). Short URLs created using English Words compulsorily have expiry period, which is 10 minutes by default, but can be changed to maximum 30 days.

  • Why can't I create Short URL using English Word that never expires?

  • Short URL using English Word is a special feature, which allows you to create pronounceable and easy to share Short URLs. To make sure that all English Words in the database don't get associated with Long URLs, it is compulsory to have an expiry period for them. However only 2000 most commonly used words have this limit. Rest of the words can be used to create Short URLs by using Custom Short URL option.

  • Which characters are allowed in Custom Short URL?

  • Digits 0-9, Uppercase Letters A-Z and Lowercase Letters a-z.

  • What is the maximum length of Custom Short URL?

  • 26 characters. 62^26=4.0011417e+46 Short URLs are possible.

  • I forgot password for modification, can I retrieve it?

  • For security reasons, it is not possible to retrieve a lost password for modification. However you can delete corresponding Short URL by sending a delete Short URL request to sspathare97@gmail.com.

  • Why can't I modify Custom Short URL or expiry period?

  • For security reasons, it is not possible. However you can delete that Short URL and create a new one with desired Custom Short URL and Expiry period.

  • Why can't I shorten a link pointing to other url shortener?

  • To prevent abuse. However, you can shorten the original destination URL.
